THE FIRST STEP

There has always been this thrill associated with travel for me. Not, in truth, because traveling was anything special or unique, but because it was such an integral part of my life. I grew up as a military brat and traveling, whether for fun or necessity, was as much a part of my life as breathing.

For me, there is nothing more exciting (and a little terrifying because god only knows what I forgot this time) than setting out on a new adventure. Each time I leave my house to start a trip, I know there is going to be a new person to meet or a new lesson to learn, and that knowledge brings so much joy.

I know that this blog will be its own sort of adventure so the thrill and terror that come with taking the first step are also accompanied by the knowledge that through this I will learn so much about myself, the people I will meet along the way, and about blogging and the great outdoors.

So, in short, welcome to this adventure that is Until Valhalla. I hope to cover all the different adventures from the planning stages all the way through the return home. As I go along, I’ll be updating the photo gallery with all the adventure shots I can take!
